Bridge over Fraser River

Major maintenance repairs were performed in 1992 to this bridge over Fraser River in New Westminster, BC. The east approach over Front Street, CPR and BNR tracks was completely redesigned and all spans were replaced supported by new steel and concrete piers. Work involved the production of all the structural drawings for replacing two existing DPG and three TPG spans with one new DPG and two TPG steel spans supported on two new piers and one new abutment on this bridge. This portion of the bridge being on a 13.75 degrees curve, the major difficulty in this project consisted in adapting the new spans to the existing structure and abutment.
